In 2004, directors Tim Furbank and Ian Gould decided to take the plunge and set up on their own as Oakbank Game & Conservation Ltd.
Both Tim and Ian have an in-depth understanding of Agriculture, Conservation and Game Shooting and the business is focused on providing a level of personal service that is unequalled in the sector.
After graduating with an honours degree in Agriculture from Newcastle University in 1991, Tim started his career as a Group Secretary for the National Farmers Union before moving on to become an arable crop specialist for Dalgety Arable Ltd.
It was whilst in this role that he first came across Ian, who was working in the same area but for a competitor, BDR. Ian had previously graduated from Harper Adams so there was a considerable amount of friendly rivalry!
Ian then moved on to become Seed Business Manager for CPB Twyford. In 2001 they were each looking for a new challenge and ended up working together for a major player in the Game Cover and Conservation sector.
It was there they discovered that they shared a passion for the countryside, for country sports and conservation.
