OUR STORY
Independent environmental advice, quality seed and responsible conservation for the future.
We support farmers and landowners across the UK to deliver stewardship and agri-environment schemes, biodiversity net gain, carbon and natural capital enhancement, while navigating the complexities of balancing food production, nature restoration, and climate resilience.
Oakbank was established in 2004 by Ian Gould and Tim Furbank, who saw an opportunity to work more closely with farmers and landowners to make the best use of agri-environment schemes to deliver for our soils, air and water quality and biodiversity. From small beginnings, the team has grown significantly - now covering everything from seed mixes to expert, strategic advice for farmland and woodland wildlife habitat creation projects.
In 2011, we were granted the Royal Warrant as conservation seed suppliers to Her Majesty The Queen and in 2025, we received the Royal Warrant to King Charles.
As part of the Velcourt Group, we are combining decades of expertise in managing farms and rural estates, preserving and maximising forests and woodlands and enhancing wildlife habitats to develop a new approach to multifunctional land use that supports both nature recovery and food production.
We are excited about the future and working with you, as together we can restore the UK’s natural capital, and integrate nature-based solutions with productive, resilient farming systems – for a healthier countryside for generations to come.
